Self Reflect

Sometimes (most of the time.) A little time alone is good for the soul.  I believe its called taking personal inventory. In the past I was way TOO serious with my hobby of reading, writing, drawing..and what not.
I aggravated a lot of people--for which I take full responsibility.

Sure getting into heated discussions about who is a better developed character Cyclops or Storm can be fun. But it can go There. And I often did. My reputation proceeds me a lot. And I own that, but time heals all wounds ( supposedly) and Iv'e changed for the better. However, the proof is in the pudding amirite?

Anyways, these days I am having fun creating, sharing, and investigating the myriad of talented people doing stuff online. Are they household names?  Nope! not yet...but I see loads of imaginative stuff.

See ya round

Benefits of EXILE

Welp, I finally did it. After 9 years of being a member of a comic book/all things geek message board I was permanently banned. For what, you may ask--nothing earth shattering I can assure you. In fact its not even that important. Those who wanted me out eventually got what they wanted. Namely me gone.

I can take solace that the rules had to be stretched, changed and the like to find fault  Basically I was banned for politely arguing. Did I curse? No.  Did I insult? No  However, one of the new message board rules stated  that if a person followed the letter of the law but not the spirit they could be banned.

I look back at it all and it is funny.  The persons I debated cursed, insulted and worse..They did not receive many warnings to watch their behavior.  I waited sometimes for days reading posts to see if any Mod would come in and dish out warnings. Respect other's opinions...etc. etc. The good mods did--others did not.

So my rationale changed--I decided to post as I was posted to--if they were rude..I was polite with a hint of impertinence.  But I was the one that kept getting told off.   In my case--it was like getting a speeding ticket for gripping the steering wheel tightly while wearing racing clothes--and driving the speed limit, as others speed by at 120 MPH in a 30 MPH zone.

But hey, must be my fault. Every-time I am on the road..others have to drive fast around me. Its my fault. To stretch an analogy.

Anyway, enough about that.  There are benefits of being forced out of comfort.  1) I had no idea how much time I spent online.  The world outside is pretty fun. Personally conversing beats text every day of the week.
Inflections, tone, facial expression--and reaction to what is said puts words in context.

2) Sometimes having to watch what you say online (because text/message board posts live forever--and people are less likely to forgive you for a mistake) bottles creativity. Think of having your ideas go through a committee of 12 people.  By the time it comes out..it looks nothing like what you imagined. Online conformity is real.  Don't believe me?  Go in a chat-room and say the exact opposite of what every one else is saying.

3) The problem could be you. (ME) in my case. Everyone isn't going to like the same things I like. Which is a given--its when people hate the things you like and mock you for it..that will test your composure. If that doesn't get you, becoming a Pariah will certainly change your mood.

SIDE RANT---DC Comics character Pariah really is an underused character.  So much potential.

Back on point--We all carry our past with us.  That is why many people move to new cities--for a fresh start.  Online is easier. All you have to do is log off. It will be waiting for you when you come back.

Being exiled could be the best thing that could happen to you.

Jobbers PART I  <---Clickable link

JOBBERS PART II

Been a little slow in updating the blog.  I have been busy..I still plan on going ahead with the JOBBERS web-comic or if any Indie publishers want to take a chance. I'll pitch the mini-series.

Any way i have a new character to introduce you all to--Pinnacle. Genetic composite of 1,000's of synthesized DNA strands from the best human specimens on Earth.  A designer baby made perfect through science!  Reared in a lab with no actual Life experiences until freed ( at the age of 23) by Jordan Rankin, founder of the JObbers.  Can Subject 4 survive the harsh realities of the outside world?

THE SABOTAGE OF THE CENTURY Part 1

BLACK PANTHER & STORM

A post racial Comic Book union that is ironically comical

OUR FEATURED PLAYERS

The Black Panther (T'Challa) is a fictional character in the Marvel Comics Universe. Created by writer-editor Stan Lee and pencil-co-plotter Jack Kirby, he first appeared in Fantastic Four #52 (July 1966). He is the first black superhero in mainstream American comics.

Storm (Ororo Munroe) is a fictional character that appears in a number of comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character first appeared in Giant-Size X-Men #1 (May 1975)

 Established as having met when children. RE:  Marvel Team-Up #100 (Dec. 1980) A young Storm observed Prince T'challa fighting off a band of mercenaries hired by Andreas De Ruyter. This event is significant for a number of reasons;

1)--being that it is the first time Ororo uses her mutant abilities to fly.
2) It is the first time T'Challa and Ororo met. ( and not the last)
3) T'challa and Ororo travelled together and it was Storm's fondest and happiest moment--giving her a brief respite from the tragedy of losing her parents and enslavement from the Shadow King.

NOTE: Some Bloggers and Readers have asserted that Storm and T'challa started a somewhat inappropriately aged relationship when in fact Storm was 12 and T'challa was not yet 13. He is still a prince, and did not become King until after 13. In panel 4 ORORO clearly establishes that T'challa is not much older than she.

Storm definitely remembers T'challa years later

Their Initial meeting was expounded upon by Christopher Priest
in Black Panther #26

SAMPLE:

A well crafted tale on par with Chris Claremont's seminal masterpiece  X-MEN 186 in which Storm falls in love with Forge, a Native-American mutant with a creation powerset of the technical variety.

Sounds good so far doesn't it??  It did not seem so to many X-fans who regarded the pairing with her former acquaintance as an abomination. Ignoring the year long build up to the "Marriage" the plot literally thickened with venomous animosity.

It began with the retconning of their first meeting. In Marvel Team-up 100--Storm saved a young T'challa from danger. In Storm's 2004 Mini-series the story was changed so that a young Black Panther saved Storm from harm and they both consummated their growing affection with some Bowchicka Bowwow.

That did not go over well with X-readers.  Ignoring of course that the Original 5 X-men's assemblage has been retconned reworked, retold and changed numerous times. That was beyond the point.
SEE the link below.
X-men First Class

To me it appeared as though similar stories were lauded as superb as long as they featured other characters. But the moment Black Panther enter the equation instant hostility ensued.

Each subsequent issue enraged.  It was of little consequence that the books featuring the couple went unread by its harshest critics, not to mention the editors of the X-titles that took snoddy glee in shooting holes at the storyline from afar.

CONTRAST -----The Marvel Universes depiction of the Couple VS the X-universes.

MARVEL UNIVERSE aka Avengers Territory.

X-UNIVERSE DEPICTION

I should probably mention that during the Storm/Panther marriage which began in 2005 until the annulment around august 2012 the Black Panther/Wakanda was featured in a handful of video appearances in various X-titles.  But after the Marriage was over, all of a sudden Storm was free to mention T'challa ad nausea. Albeit in a negative tone..

While reminiscing about the annulment I was struck by the ferocity in which it was initialized by Storm.  It  a literal drag-down tooth and nail fight. Although it seemed to be more about Storm's displeasure with T'challa for no apparent reason. At least none was given.

The choice of saying how horrible a Husband T'challa was in AvX was very telling considering Cyclops killed Professor X with the aid of the Phoenix Force. Scott Summers was also responsible for numerous mutant deaths, the creation of a mutant assassination team. Not to mention he chose Storm's most hated nemesis as his consort namely EMMA FROST, who belittles her every chance she gets and Ororo seemingly had no problem staying by his side.

Furthermore, the AvX panel is odd given the fact Storm married another man in another dimension. And unlike other alternate reality stories this one featured displaced X-men who would then return to their correct universe and have to be mind-wiped to forget the experience.

As the Images below dictates--during, before and after the annulment heap upon heap of desolation found T'challa an the Wakandan people.

And to top it all off---Storm decides to sleep around.

Here Wolverine seems giddy and content to Bang a somewhat grieving Storm every chance she gets.

First Ink & color attempt

We learn by doing or is that try, try and try again.  The race does not go to the quickest or the strongest but time and chance make winners of us all.

I have been inking and coloring pages for my webcomic and it is harder than it looks my hat goes off to those who create these so-called funny books.  They make it look so easy.

That being said I have been having so much fun! Even though there are a multitude of webcomic hosting sites-- the challenge remains--how does one stand out from the crowd.

Considering this is my first foray into the field, I am shocked at how many helpful people freely give advice and constructive criticism. It warms my heart that the love and creativity of the medium has never
 diminished.

I will continue to get better and hopefully provide some entertainment--in the train wreck or hey that's not bad assessment of what I am trying to do.

This is one of my fav panels that I colored outside of the front cover. I am new to Adobe Premium CS but it is a wonderful tool.

Jobbers Web Comic

Snowed in and feeling creative, I have decided to go ahead and try my hand at web comics.   The two series I will introduce is War Dogz and The Jobbers. The first featuring a pack of Anthropomorphic genetically enhanced dogs granted Human level intellect.  The other being a team
of super heroes paid to protect other superheroes from untimely deaths by PROVISION the world's most lucrative Insurance Company.

In the coming weeks I will showcase various sketches and scripts. A kind of behind the scenes look at my struggle and hopeful triumph at creating web comics.   If its a train-wreck instead I hope it will be a glorious one.

This Month's featured hero is WI-FI.  Trayvon Foxx.  Who's power decreases or increases the closer he is to Wi-Fi hotspots.

Brief Backstory:  Before becoming the Telecommunication Powerhouse of the 22nd Century, Trayvon was a struggling college student low on funds.  With no real job prospects he volunteered to undergo a series of funded scientific experiments by Professor Alokin Lars--fascinated with Energy Conversion and Transmission.  When a rival sabotages Lars work the resulting lab accident leaves Foxx altered and endued with amazing powers.
